Pay Or Play

Vivid director Sinclair has put together a movie that's pretty much right on the mark for a Vivid movie and pretty much typical for a Vivid director -- a very tenuous theme, a half dozen scenes loosely tied together by that theme, or at least distantly related to it, and appearances by a half-dozen or so pretty hot girls who perform sex acts to make you lose track of what the very tenuous theme was. In the case of Pay or Play, the theme is basically whoring -- everybody pays some kind of price for the sex they have, whether it makes sense or not.

Sunrise Adams leads off and dominates the movie, with three scenes (two B/G and a G/G), with Lanny Barbie, Kimberly Kane, Sindee Jennings and Ashley Blue bringing up the rear.

Scene 1 -- Love Or Money -- Kimberly Kane, Nick Manning ($1500)

Nick Manning says he doesn't pay for sex, but he does agree to give Kimberly Kane $1500 just before he fucks her. This scene is the most intense of the six on the disc. Kane is always on fire -- it's like she can't do a scene that doesn't sizzle, and Manning's gritted-teeth, kidney-stone-sufferer delivery makes it seem like he's always in the middle of the climax of a cop drama. The two rampage across the bed in what looks like it turned into a grudge fuck pretty early, and the heat never lets up.

Scene 2 -- Broke Boyfriend -- Sunrise Adams, Kurt Lockwood

Sunrise Adams is pissed because her boyfriend Kurt hasn't paid her back for the guitar she bought him and apparently hasn't gotten a job to make the money to pay her back for the guitar she bought for him, so she accepts his suggestion that he pay her in cock. If nothing has ever convinced you that porn isn't real, this should do the trick; he treats her right in the sack, but he is by no means being punished, and in the real world, this would never work.

Scene 3 -- Wet Bar -- Sindee Jennings, Mark Davis

Sindee arrives at Mark Davis' restaurant to apply for the position of stripper, although she actually has to demonstrate her abilities in the positions of dog and missionary. Along the way, she also show off her cocksucking skills and squirts a couple of girl loads all over the bar and herself. It turns out in the end that it's just a restaurant, with no strip club attached, but she gets the waitressing job anyway. I imagine her first assignment will be to do some mopping.

Scene 4 -- Paying the Rent -- Ashley Blue, Sunrise Adams

Sunrise Adams hasn't paid the rent, no doubt because her no-good bum boyfriend Lockwood keeps stiffing her on the money he owes her for the guitar. Landlady Ashley Blue busts in and demands satisfaction, which she receives in the form of sex from Sunrise Adams (if you're keeping track, according to the principle of equivalency relations Kurt has basically just paid Sunrise's rent by fucking Ashley). Ashley Blue is always intense and does not flag here, but she's too over-the-top for my tastes, so for me this pairing falls a little short of the Kane-Manning axis in the first scene.

Scene 5 -- To Russia With Love -- Lanny Barbie, John Strong

There's no money involved here; instead, after all threats of torture and maltreatment have presumably failed, Lanny Barbie tries to get information out of a prisoner -- John Strong -- by having sex with him (Strong speaks convincing Russian because he is from Russia; I don't know how Lanny Barbie managed it). It seems unlikely that this will work, as it directly contravenes the punishment-based principle on which such relationships are based, but I guess she's down to the bottom of the barrel, method-wise. It looks like she doesn't get what she wants, but it seemed like a long-shot at best anyway. At least she looks good fucking.

Scene 6 -- Hooker Pays for Sex -- Sunrise Adams, Mike Striker

In an ironic little coda to Sunrise Adams' tale of financial misprision and misfortune, it turns out that she does have money -- she's not using it to pay the rent because she goes out to bars and pays random guys for sex. I bet you didn't see that coming! Neither did Mike Striker, but he's quick to roll with the punches, and he agrees to take her money in return for slinging her some cock in an empty bar. They never agree on a price, but whatever he gets paid is almost certainly more than he would have accepted if she'd bothered to haggle.
